Promoted Tweets on Twitter

It has been said that marketing on Twitter has just started with the appearance of promoted tweets starting which are marketing new products and services.

It is believed that the very first promotion tweet was for the Disney Pixar release of Toy Story 3 and click the link of the tweet takes you to a tweet load of information about the upcoming film everyone is waiting to see. The tweets are seen as a great advance for the Twitter service and this is backed up by the fact that those who do follow the Disney promotion link are also able to buy tickets to the film from the company’s Facebook page.

The initial launch of the Twitter marketing tweets came back in April when one of the Twitter founders, Biz Stone said they had created an alternative marketing service.

As with all tweets those twittering personally or for promotion purposes are limited to one hundred and forty characters, basically like an SMS text. Evidence has surfaced to say that other large companies wishing to use the Twitter tweet advertising service include Virgin America, Starbucks and Red Bull.
