Sony Announce Demise of Print Books

Saturday, 5 June 2010
It has been reported in the Telegraph that Sony believe that ebooks will overtake print as the chosen form of reading with the next five years.

In fact the president of Sony’s digital reading business division, Steve Haber actually said to the Telegraph that although he said three years ago it would be ten years before digital books outsell standard print he has revised this to five years.

Sony have said that a pattern formed with both the digitisation of music and photos and that this pattern has now shown to be evident in the digitisation of books.

I am sure many of you have bought ebooks of varying types, whether this is private written ebooks on specific subjects or books from Amazon and such like, well it looks like we are all turning to digital books over physical print books time and again.

I know I am one person who has read ebooks but saying this I do love to have a physical print book to hand, especially when reading in bed before I go to sleep so even though print books will be in demise because of ebooks they will not be dead and buried for now.
