Facebook is not shutting down for good so don't get yourself worried, but it did have to shut down for a period of time. the outage happened in the past 24 hours and caused Facebook to be down for roughly 25 minutes.
How could this happen is what many are crying out!
Well, we here at Techno Judge have it on good authority that it was an accidental issue caused by a Facebook member of staff. The site was in the midst of launching new designs on the brand pages, photos section and page management features when code for new products was accidentally leaked to the public during the transition. This meant Facebook having to shutdown temporarily to correct the fault and stop the code being visible.
Many people were twittering, emailing and texting one another as a result of the Facebook shut down as they were unable to use the social networking site to talk.
The official Facebook blog said of the outage: "For a brief period of time, some internal prototypes were made public to a number of people externally." read the message. "As a result, we took the site down for a few minutes. It's back up, and we apologise for the inconvenience."
