Joomla 1.6 Beta Released

Joomla the well known and much loved CMS website development company has just announced the release of the new version 1.6 beta of their content management software.

For those that don’t know Joomla is a free open source content management system website software that is easily installed and helps people of little website knowledge develop fully functional ecommerce and member websites.

Joomla 1.6 has improved features on the great and current Joomla 1.5 version available such as a new control system, one-click extension updates and semantic XHTML layouts among others to give an even better system than that currently available.

Ryan Ozimek, President of Open Source Matters (OSM) a non profit organization who sponsors Joomla said of the release, “The release of Joomla! 1.6 will raise the bar of success for our community’s users, and enable our developer community to build even more exciting and compelling solutions,”

This 1.6 release is still in beta and further developments could occur after users have tried and tested this wonderful new version of Joomla’s content management system.
